What is an F-1 Visa?

An F-1 visa is a student visa that allows you to enter the United States as a full-time student at an accredited college or university, where you enroll in a program or course of study that culminates in a degree.

Note: Exchange students will be issued a non-degree I-20 to enter the U.S. for their studies.

What is a J-1 Visa?

A J-1 visa is an exchange visitor visa for those who intend to participate in an approved program for the purpose of teaching, instructing, lecturing, studying, observing, conducting research, consulting, demonstrating special skills, or receiving training. J-1 nonimmigrants are sponsored by an exchange program that is designated by the U.S. Department of State. Queens is proud to issue non-degree I-20s for exchange students and to host J-1 visa holders through various exchange programs, such as ISEP.
