Barnhardt Residence Hall

Barnhardt Hall was built in 1965 and honors Mr. and Mrs. Barnhardt. William Barnhardt was a prominent and devoted supporter of the university and served as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Most recently renovated residence hall!

Barnhardt offers a unique experience for students living on the first floor with triple and quadruple occupancy rooms. Each of these larger rooms has enough room for bunkbeds and a casual space. On the second and third floors, approximately 100 residents reside in double rooms. All of these rooms have moveable furniture. Regardless of the room type, Barnhardt has a communal style bathroom that is gender inclusive*.

Located in the center of Barnhardt is an outdoor courtyard that gives you a quiet, beautiful place to study, eat, or socialize.

Barnhardt is supported by five Resident Assistants (RAs) and a live-in Graduate Hall Director.

Barnhardt is located on Wellesley Avenue, across from the Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement. It is next door to the Health & Wellness Center.

Gender Inclusive Bathrooms are a single-stall, lockable restroom available to people of all genders and sexes. Each single stall includes a shower, sink, and toilet.

In an effort to meet the needs of transgender, gender non-conforming students, their allies, and students who may feel more comfortable or safe with suitemates of different gender identifications, Residence Life & Housing offers intentionally gender-inclusive housing in Barnhardt Hall. While roommates can be of different gender identities, as with all housing, gender-inclusive housing is not intended for romantic cohabitation. If you are interested in gender inclusive housing at Queens, please select this option in the housing application.

If you have questions, please contact Residence Life & Housing (reslife@queens.edu).

Please keep in mind these are general estimates as room sizes and furniture may vary slightly based on location within the building and furniture replacement. Furniture is measured in inches while room dimensions are in feet.
