Meet Our Program

Designed to build an advanced understanding of the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, students will engage with current research to learn the best practices in STEM teaching and learning. Students will design and implement lessons and units using an inquiry-based approach and build capacity in all STEM-related disciplines. Our program also supports an increased understanding of the historical, social, and cultural demands which often hinder effective teaching and learning in these areas.

At Queens, you’ll work directly with faculty who have decades of teaching and research experience and have been in your current position as K-12 educators as well as coaches, facilitators, specialty leaders, and administrators. As professional developers, they work with school administrators and teachers in local districts and schools. This ensures they keep current on standards, best practices, and recent education trends.

Our certificate program aligns with the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards and North Carolina Graduate Standards.
