The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is used by colleges and the federal government to determine your eligibility for grants, need-based scholarships, loans, and work-study programs.
Filling Out Your FAFSA in 2025
It’s time to complete the 2025-26 FAFSA! Our director of financial aid at Queens University of Charlotte, Derrick Everhart, is here to guide you.
First, head to the Federal Student Aid website to get started. A student or parent (known as the contributor) can start the FAFSA process once the FSA ID setup is finished (each student and parent has their own FSA ID). Once you have entered your information, the FAFSA will ask for your parents’ email address so you can invite them to complete the FAFSA. Make sure to use the Queens school code (002957) when filling out your FAFSA!
Once you’ve filled it out, you’ll receive a summary. Within 3-5 business days, Queens will put together a personalized financial aid offer, assuming you’ve already been admitted. That offer will show the cost of attending and the ways you can finance your education (we even have a payment plan option!).
