Biography

Dr. Greg Berka teaches undergraduate-level courses in business communications, principles of management and creativity, as well as graduate-level courses in organizational behavior and development. His research interests focus on understanding how individuals experience feelings of inclusion and exclusion in their work group and organization, and how organizations can help foster creativity and intellectual curiosity for all employees.

His professional experience includes nine years at Wells Fargo, Wachovia and First Union in an array of finance roles before earning his Ph.D. so that he could pursue his passion for teaching. He also worked for two years in public accounting, as a CPA, for McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, and worked in real estate sales, investment, and property management.

While earning his Ph.D., Dr. Berka taught eight undergraduate classes in management, organizational behavior, business communication, and a freshman seminar, and created a new elective class titled Individual, Social and Organizational Creativity. In spring 2013, he earned the Student-Teacher of the Year Award, which is granted to one student across all master’s and Ph.D. programs.
