Biography

Dr. Varvara Pasiali, MT-BC, is a board-certified music therapist and has extensive clinical experience working with families, children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and children with behavioral or emotional needs. She also works with adults addressing wellness, coping, self-expression, and self-compassion. She currently teaches music therapy courses, such as applied techniques, psychology of music, professional foundations. She supervises students during clinical field-placements. She also serves as the Academic Chair of the Honors Program and teaches the upper level HNR 400 course.

Her research interests include early intervention, prevention, resilience and parent-child attachment/reciprocity. Dr. Pasiali has published in the Journal of Creativity in Mental Health, Journal of Music Therapy, Nordic Journal of Music Therapy, and Music Therapy Perspectives and is a frequent conference presenter. She serves on the editorial board for the open access online journal Approaches: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Music Therapy and Music Therapy Perspectives.
