What You’ll Study

Are you curious about technology and medicine? If so, this program is made for you. Our unique program provides an alternative path to medical school for those interested in the technological side of modern medicine. Along with the biology and chemistry courses necessary for admission to a graduate medical program, the major provides education in coding, electronics, instrument design, and signal processing.

Engineering physics tools on a table

Students will develop a robust project portfolio, strong scientific literacy, and expertise in cutting-edge technologies (machine vision, machine learning, 3D printing, laser cutting, etc.). Students who desire to go to medical school are highly versed in problem-solving and are prepared to understand complex systems and integrated medical technology. In addition to medicine, engineering physics provides an excellent springboard into engineering-based careers.

How Can You Use This Degree?

Along with being prepared for medical school, students who experience this major are prepared for careers in:

  • Electrical engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Biomedical engineering
  • Position in research and development for private, public, and non-profit organizations
